Carolyn Louise House Bryant, 86, of Gillsville entered heaven on Sunday August 7, 2022 at Beehive Homes in Gainesville.
Carolyn was born on February 24, 1936 in Gainesville to the late JR “Bob” and Marion Louise Payne House. She began her professional career at Citizens Bank in Gainesville. After making time for her family, she returned to work in Hall County and retired to the office of the Hall County Tax Commissioner. She was a founding member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Gillsville. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Theron “Downey” Bryant, her parents and her sister, Winnie Jeanette Irvin.
Left to cherish precious memories are sons, Bobby (Charlotte) Bryant; daughters, Jan (Rick) Eckert and Karen (Paul) Montecalvo; brother, Charles House; grandchildren, Austin and Dylan Montecalvo and Kellen Van Hook; great-granddaughter, Peyton Van Hook. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Emmanuel Community Church in Gillsville (formerly Pine Grove Baptist Church) with Reverend Seth Harvey and Reverend Kip Wright officiating. She will be interred in the churchyard next to her husband with the Reverend Sam Henderson officiating the funeral service.
Carolyn will be in state at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. The family will receive friends at church after the service in the communion hall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Community Church Cemetery Fund or the Hospice of Northeast Georgia.
