Laois Nationalist – Death has taken place of Helena (Lena) McEvoy – Mountrath


Helena (Lena) McEvoy, Trumera, Mountrath passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 13 in her 90s.and year in the good care of the staff of Saint Martha’s Ward, Saint Vincent’s Community Nursing Unit, Mountmellick Hospital.

Helena was predeceased by her parents John and Ellen, her sisters Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth, Rose and Kate, her brothers James and Michael.

Much missed by his son Martin (Joe) and his grandson Barry McEvoy, his sister-in-law Katie McEvoy, his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, neighbors and friends.

Resting at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath on the evening of Maundy Thursday 14th April from 8pm with Rosary at 9pm. Pick up on Good Friday morning 15th April from St Fintan’s Church, Mountrath, for funeral service at 10am followed by interment in Cromogue Cemetery.

The McEvoy family would like to thank you for your help, support and understanding during this sad and difficult time.

The Covid government directives remain to be respected please. People attending the funeral, funeral home, church and cemetery are asked to wear masks and refrain from shaking hands.
