Group seeks sponsors to help place wreaths at Barrancas National Cemetery

On December 17, 2022, volunteers assisting the Kiwanis Club of Big Lagoon Foundation will lay wreaths at Barrancas National Cemetery in NAS Pensacola as part of Wreaths Across America.

Last year, the local effort included around 23,500 crowns – the most to date. However, the effort still fails to lay wreaths on all of the cemetery’s more than 47,000 graves.

Afterwards, the group asks the community for help by sponsoring and laying wreaths.

Wreath sponsorships are $15 each. Family sponsors (5 crowns) $75; Bronze (10 crowns) $150; Silver (50 crowns) $750; Gold (100 crowns) $1,500; Platinum (200 crowns) $3,000 and Diamond (500 crowns) $7,500.

Sponsors can place the wreaths or request the placement. More than 1,900 specific burial requests were honored last year, but the majority are used for mass placement in new and old sections of the cemetery, with the aim of covering as many as possible.

The deadline for sponsorships is November 28, 2022. For more information, visit or send checks to BLKF Wreaths, 10447 Sorrento Rd., Suite 100, Pensacola, FL 32507 (please include name, number telephone number and e-mail address, if possible).
